The course of study for students enrolled in an Esthetician course shall consist of six hundred (600) clock hours of technical instruction and practical training covering all practices constituting the art of esthetics (skin care) pursuant to Section 7316 of the Barbering and Cosmetology Act. For the purpose of this section, technical instruction shall mean instruction by demonstration, lecture, classroom participation or examination; practical operation shall mean the actual performance by the student of a complete service on another person or mannequin. The course of instruction in the practical phases of barbering required for a student enrolled in a 1,600 hour course shall cover not less than 350 hours including training in manual, electrical and chemical facials, 200 hours of technical instruction in health and safety, 50 hours in technical instruction and practical training in hair removal and make-up. All classes are taught by licensed instructors with many years of experience.
